Rooted in Ayurvedic tradition, copper vessels are revered as wellness tools. More than a mug — a daily ritual that reconnects you with elemental living.

Ritual & care

How to use your copper mug

Charge overnight

Fill with water and let it rest overnight to absorb copper's benefits the traditional way.

Use in moderation

1–2 copper-charged servings a day is ideal. Avoid acidic, dairy or carbonated drinks.

Clean naturally

Hand-wash only. Remove tarnish with lemon & salt, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

Caring for your copper cup

How do I clean my Solvara copper cup?

Hand-wash only. After each use, rinse with warm water, wipe with a soft cloth or sponge, and dry thoroughly — copper should never be left wet or air-dried, as standing water can leave marks. When the copper begins to dull, sprinkle a little salt onto half a cut lemon and gently rub it over the inside and outside, then rinse well with warm water and dry. Avoid harsh scourers, abrasive or chemical cleaners and the dishwasher, as these will damage the finish and the engraving.

My cup has darkened — is the patina normal?

Yes, completely. Copper is a living, reactive metal, so it naturally develops a warmer, darker patina over time as it meets air and water. This is a normal and harmless part of owning a genuine copper vessel, and many people grow to love the aged character it brings. If you prefer the original bright shine, a quick polish with lemon and salt restores it in moments — either way, your cup works exactly the same.

What can I use in the cup, and what should I avoid?

Use it for plain drinking water only — ideally at room temperature, rested in the cup so it can charge the traditional Ayurvedic way (Tamra Jal). Please avoid acidic, fizzy, alcoholic and dairy drinks: citrus or lemon water, fruit juice, vinegar, fizzy drinks, milk, tea and coffee. Acidic and hot liquids react with copper and can cause it to leach into your drink, so the cup is best kept for water and water alone.

Can I take Shilajit in my copper cup?

No — please use the copper cup with plain water only, never with Shilajit. Shilajit is naturally acidic and mineral-rich, which reacts with copper, can cause the metal to leach, and will stain the vessel. To take Shilajit, dissolve your dose in warm (not boiling) water in a glass or ceramic cup and drink it from there. Keep your copper cup purely for your daily copper-charged water ritual.

How often should I clean it, and is it dishwasher-safe?

It is not dishwasher-safe — the heat and detergents strip and pit the copper, so always hand-wash. A quick rinse and dry after each use, plus a gentle lemon-and-salt polish every week or two (or whenever it looks dull), is all it needs to stay bright. Always dry it fully before storing to prevent water spots.
