Your ritual, answered
Can I take my Shilajit in the copper cup?
No — please keep the copper cup for plain water only, never for Shilajit. Shilajit is naturally acidic and mineral-rich, which reacts with copper, can cause the metal to leach, and will stain the vessel. To take your dose, dissolve one level brass spoon (500mg) of Shilajit in warm — not boiling — water in a glass or ceramic cup and drink it from there. The copper mug stays purely for your daily copper-charged water.
How do I use the copper cup?
Fill it with plain drinking water and let it rest overnight (or at least 6–8 hours) so the water charges the traditional Ayurvedic way — known as Tamra Jal — then sip it on waking. Use it at room temperature and keep to 1–2 copper-charged servings a day. Remember it is for water only: avoid acidic, fizzy, alcoholic or dairy drinks, and never use it for hot liquids such as tea or coffee.
How do I clean the copper cup?
Hand-wash only. Rinse with warm water and wipe dry after each use — copper should never be left wet, as standing water leaves marks. When it begins to dull, sprinkle a little salt onto half a cut lemon and gently rub the inside and outside, then rinse well with warm water and dry. Avoid the dishwasher, harsh scourers and chemical cleaners, which damage the finish. A darker patina forming over time is completely natural and harmless — a quick lemon-and-salt polish brings the shine back whenever you like.
Should I have my Shilajit or the copper-infused water first?
We'd suggest starting with the copper-charged water first thing on waking, on an empty stomach, to gently hydrate. Then take your Shilajit a little later — dissolved in warm water or warm milk, ideally in the morning. Keeping them separate means you still enjoy your daily Tamra Jal while never putting Shilajit in the copper cup. As with any new routine, ease in gradually and follow the dosage guidance for your Shilajit.
